11/04/22 I'm in "slide show ultra marathion creation" mode right now, which means not much sleep, hiking to and from the gallery in the dark, and waaay too much coffee and sugar consumption. (First TWO programs are only a WEEK from TODAY!!!) Wish me luck. EVENING UPDATE - I emerged from the dingy computer room this evening with the soundtrak for the program in place and about 1/2 of the photos installed. I've alreay heard some of the bits of music over a hundred times, and this was only the first day! (I only pick music that I LOVE and can listen to over and over and over...

11/06/22 FALL BACKWARDS DAY. We had some really nice color at dawn today. And for some reason, daylight today seemed to be at the correct time - no issues here with the time change. Maybe it's because we've been crossing so many time zones and back during the past few months. ALSO, I've managed to produce a working copy of the new slide program, one that I'd be able to present if I'mn noy able to work on it anymore. But I will - work on it - for the next several days - every time I watch it there are always tweaks to be made, which will always be the case - the only perfect part of the program will be the wonderful folks who will show up to watch it. Just FYI, we will NOT have books or calendars for sale at the programs (except as noted below), but I hope to have a selection of Black Mat Prints for sale ($64.50 each, which includes sales tax if you pay with a credit card, or if you pay with a check or cash we will pay the sales tax for you so just $60 each).

11/10/22 Lake Coronodo in Hot Springs Village at dawn this morning - my first slide show of the season is here at 10am today, then Hot Springs Library at 7pm tonight is my second - ALL ARE FREE AND OPOEN TO THE PUBLIC! Hope too see ya at one. UPDATE - we had a TERRIFIC crowd of wonderful folks for this opening program of the season - SO GREAT to see a couple hundred smiling faces!

Here's a snapshot (below) of the crowd that gathered (before my part of the show began) for my evening show at the Hot Springs Library - a record crowd for me in Hot Springs, and the first dog I've had in the front row of a program - great group with lots of questions!

11/12/22 We got about an inch of snow overnight (all of it in an hour), and the temp was a balmy 24 for our hike to work - always GREAT to see snow here!

11/14/22 FROST FLOWERS IN THE YARD!

11/15/22 A winter wonderland in the higher elevations (like us) this morning - almost three inches of wet, fluffy snow. I'm headed to the dentist chair at dawn for another $3.5k of work - OUCH!

11/16/22 Clear and colorful at dawn. The pups and I made a quick lap around our trail as sunshine began to light up the forest as we went. At times the wind blew a bit, which created a zillion sparkling diamonds all around us. There was still quite a bit of fluffy-now-frozen snow from yesterday, and the wind sent the individual snow-ice crystals falling. Once in a while a group of those snow-ice bits would launch off branch and target the back of my neck - YIKES it was kinda chilly to have ice rolling down my bare spine! Just a heads up for those in the Bentonville area - tomorrow will be my last slide show at the Bentonville Library - ARKANSAS GREATEST HITS. I’ll be signing books and selling prints beginning about 5:30-ish pm with the show starting promptly at 6pm (will last about an hour). There will be a bookstore on hand selling some of my books (I don’t know which ones or how many though). And I will have a selection of about 60 Black Mat Prints ON SALE (discount for cash or check). NOTE I WILL NOT BE SELLING BOOKS like in the past, but am happy to sign anything for you.

11/18/22 Yet another SNOW last night - three times this month already - YIPPIE!

11/20/22 My lovely bride and I are parents to a pair of wonderful daughters - our eldest, Amber, sent a photo from below the rim of the Grand Canyon - she's hiking to the bottom and back out again today (with her mate, Anthony), and started hiking in the dark (hum, I wonder where she got the crazy idea to do something like that?). The lower photo is of our youngest daughter, Mia - this is her after our brisk two-mile hike this morning at home, at dawn - we think BOTH are KEEPERS! (I have a feeling Amber will feel like doing this once she returns to their campsite later today!)

Evening update - THEY MADE IT OUT ALIVE - 20 miles of hiking, 5,000' DOWN and 5,000' back up again - YIPPIE!
