RICHLAND CREEK WILDERNESS MAP This new map details the Richland Creek Wilderness Area and nearby Ozark Highlands Trail on a full-color USGS quad map (actually it contains parts of four quad maps combined). 20 foot contours, with the wilderness area shaded and the Ozark Highlands Trail marked in red. This is a great map for anyone wishing to explore the Richland Creek Wilderness, or for anyone wanting a topo map of the Ozark Highlands Trail section that goes around the wilderness area (makes a good companion for the OHT guidebook). This is the second map in a new series of wilderness maps that are being published by the Ozark Society Foundation, the non-profit wing of the Ozark Society.
The area detailed is part of the Ozark National Forest, and is in the Buffalo Ranger District (headquarters in Jasper). Besides the 20-foot contours, blue streams and rivers, and private property, the map shows old roads inside the wilderness area (which are now the trails); plus forest roads, and all the normal details you would expect to find on the standard USGS quad maps.
